Note 144 — Chapter XII

Reading edition

Bir Shenshef and Bir Beida are in fact classed as belonging to the Hamedorab in a MS. list of wells drawn up by Bramly Bey. But he has doubtless so classed them before their true locality was known; as they lie well to the north of the Sudan administrative boundary (Shenshef is over one hundred kilometres from the nearest point of that boundary, on the Egyptian side) the Hamedorab claim can hardly be maintained.
