Note 140 — Chapter XII

Of these two sub-tribes (Mallak and Mohammad Omerab), I did not hear anything during my travels. The Mallak country is mostly south of latitude 22°, but extends into South-Eastern Egypt round about Bir Egat, a locality which I did not visit. The Mohammad Omerab are stated by Mr. Bramly (op. cit.) to own the wells of Bir Meisah and Megwel Didaut, which, as will be seen from what follows, are included in the area claimed as Kurbeilab by the Sheikh who accompanied me.
