Note 367 — Chapter III · THE CONTRIBUTION OF THE MOSLEMS

Reading edition

Though the great, formal Arabic geographical works were not known in the West in the Middle Ages, legendary lore of the Moslems influenced European legends. The story of St. Brandan, for instance, undeniably owes much to Moslem romance. See De Goeje, St. Brandan, 1890.
