Not mentioned in Cesare Foligno's Story of Padua, but there is a chapel of St. Mark figured in a mediæval map of the town. The mention of this saint tends to explain the lions mentioned in the 1916 script, which had hitherto seemed an incongruous feature, if not quite out of place on a chapel of Our Lady.—F.B.B.
