Note 631 — Chapter XI · RESULT OF THE EVIDENCE.

Reading edition

The 'one-field system 'of permanent arable must not be confused with the improvement of the early Welsh and Irish 'co-aration of the waste,' by which the land was cropped perhaps two or three or four years before it was left to go back into grass. This resembles the German Feldgraswirthschaft and not the German one-field system.
