The Day of searching examination or reckoning. The word has to be compared with the Coptic ⲕⲱϯ in the sense of search, enquiry, ζητεῖν, ζήτησις. This sense is derived from a circle ( sail round) and the notion of going completely round a thing and approaching it from all sides.
