Inscription on tomb of the “Wolf of Badenoch”:—“Hic jacet Alexander Senescalus, filius Roberti Regis Scotorum et Elizabeth More, Dominus de Buchan et Dns de Badenoch, qui obit vigessimo quarto die Julii.” The words in italics have been restored, and there is a mistake in the date, as Alexander Stewart died 20th February 1394.—Monuments and Monumental Inscriptions in Scotland, by Rev. Charles Rogers, LL. D., &c., for Grampian Club, 2 vols., 1871 and 1872.
