The old pyramid buildings of West Africa are closely related, on the one hand, to the Nordic dolmens (Hünengräber) of Holstein and, on the other, to the graves of the Old Kingdom (some illustrations in L. Frobenius, Der kleinafrikanische Grabbau, 1916).
