In the French Dictionary of Richelet, it is thus explained: à la queue leu leu, (Continenti serie ludere) a kind of play, which means, 'the tail of the wolf.' To play à la queue leu leu, is said when children place themselves in a file, and the leader, making a half-wheel round, drags the rest after him, endeavouring to catch hold of the last in the file.
