It is given as a reason for his appearing first in Galilee that the Galileans were first led into exile, and so should first be comforted, as all divine action conforms to the law of requital (Gfrörer, “Jahr. d. Heils,” 230 sq. Cf. also Isa. viii. 23). ↑
