κατ' οικον οικουρουσιν 'ωστε παρθενοι (Soph. Oed. Col. 343).—'Οικουρος est quasi proprium vocabulum mulierum: οικουργος est scribarum commentum,'—as Matthaei, whose note is worth reading, truly states.
