The Campaign of Waterloo

Note 724 — Chapter XVI · THE BATTLE OF WATERLOO.

Reading edition

The principal question as to this is in regard to the corps of Reille, a part of which, certainly, might have been more usefully employed in sustaining the cavalry attacks than in fighting in the wood of Hougomont, or on the Nivelles road on the west side of Hougomont. See Heymès’ statement in Doc. Inéd., pp. 17, 18.
