An entry in the records of the War Dept. reads: “Fort Dearborn having become a general hospital on July 11th, no returns were received until its reoccupation: Companies G and I, 2d Infantry, returned to the fort on October 1st from the campaign.” Wentworth’s address on Ft. Dearborn.
