When the jailer at Philippi inquired of Paul and Silas, "What must I do to be saved?" they simply replied, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thy house" (Acts xvi. 30, 31). It would, surely, be well if this method of dealing with an anxious inquirer were more faithfully adopted.
