Reading edition

Heuzey, in the Revue d’Assyriologie, 1905, pp. 59 sqq. and plate iii. Von Lichtenberg (Mitteilungen der Vorderasiatischen Gesellschaft, 1906, 2) has lately pointed out that the black incised pottery with white fillings is identical in Cyprus, Troy, the Laibach bog and the Mondsee, and that the ornamentation which characterizes it is found in the valley of the Danube and the pile-dwellings of Switzerland. His attempt to derive it from Cyprus, however, cannot be sustained in view of its occurrence in Elam.
