aavitz, Zactecauh. Both these names of the ancestral heroes of the Cakchiquels appear to be partly Nahuatl. a is “fire,” and Zak is “white,” both Cakchiquel words, but vitzli, thorn, and techatl, the stone of sacrifice, are Nahuatl.
