Court Roll of 1282. “Hugh Sweyn gives to the lord 15d. that he may be able to hold 2½ acres of arable land of the tenement formerly Richard Wisdom's, paying therefor yearly 15d. of rent: sureties for the services being Gilbert Swein and Roger Carter.” Nine other tenants take fractions of Richard Wisdom's holding in the same way.
