The west door is hardly ever used now as an entrance for visitors, and if we were really coming to the Abbey we should enter by another door, called Solomon’s Porch, close by St. Margaret’s Church. But as soon as we had got inside we should walk straight down to the great west door, and imagine we had just come in that way.
