Ibn Abi ‛Uṣaibia wrote an invaluable dictionary of the lives of the most noted physicians, entitled كتاب عيون الأنباء قي طبقات الأطباء (= The book of the sources of information concerning the various classes of physicians). It is especially full on the lives of Arab physicians. See the edition of A. Müller, Königsberg, 1884, vol. i, pp. 304–6.
