Reading edition

134Charles to the Lords Justices, January 12, 1631-2. (Ibid., I., 62-63.) Miss Hickson has quoted a most significant entry from the MS. journal of an Anglo-Irish official: “July 23, 1633. The Lord Viscounte Wentworth came to Ireland to govern ye kingdom: manie men feare.” (Ireland in the Seventeenth Century, I., 52.) Lord Cork expressed his dissatisfaction still more forcibly: “A moste cursed man to all Ireland and to me in particular.” Diary, July 23, 1633.
