Note 63 — Chapter III · PALENCIA—VALLADOLID.

Reading edition

In 1504 the conclusion of the cathedral of Palencia was undertaken by Martin de Solórzano, an inhabitant of Sta. Maria de Haces, under the condition that he should finish his work in six years, with stone from the quarries of Paredes del Monte and Fuentes de Valdepero. Salórzano, however, died in 1506, and Juan de Ruesga, a native of Segovia, finished it.—Cean Bermudez, Arq. de España, vol. i. p. 142.
