Thomas Kyd, The Works, ed. Frederick S. Boas (Oxford, 1955), p. xlii. Chambers, Elizabethan Stage, IV, p. 23, suggests that the present text was the one presented at the Globe about 1604. However, the suggestion is hedged with so many qualifications that I thought it better to exclude this piece.
