Had the life of the worthy Author been spared a few years longer, he would have seen that happy event realized which he enjoyed only in anticipation; and would have rejoiced at the removal of those dreadful evils, which he has here described in such glowing colors. That shameful traffic, which has added such an awful weight to our national sins, is now brought to a conclusion.
