The Jews said unto the Muslims, We are the people of the first book (the Pentateuch), and our Ḳibleh (the point to which we turn our faces in praying) is the more ancient, and the prophets have not been of the Arabs, and if Moḥammad were a prophet, he had been of us. Therefore the following was revealed.
