In the Calendar we find for January 13 (the day of the settlement) “quod rem publicam P. R. restituit” (C.I.L. i. p. 312). Cf. Ovid Fasti i. l. 589 “redditaque est omnis populo provincia nostro”; Vell. ii. 89 “prisca illa et antiqua rei publicae forma revocata.”
