Note 128 — Chapter III · INDEPENDENT RULE, 1087-95

Reading edition

A.-S. C., a. 1091; Florence of Worcester, ii, p. 28. For the reading ‘Lothian,’ instead of Leeds, see Freeman, William Rufus, ii, p. 541. But the English writers say specifically that Malcolm had advanced into Lothian to meet the English forces.
