Sir Hugh Low observes that among the Land Dyak the favourite remedies for the cure of internal diseases are turmeric and spices, taken in huge quantities; “but for anything at all serious, recourse is had to the pamali, both in medical and surgical cases” (Sarawak, p. 308).
