The Committee alludes to the immense quantities of excellent stone for highways near Pateley-Bridge, and the great want of it in the neighbourhoods of Howden and Selby; and the surplus produce of the earth in these districts, and the increasing demand for it at Skipton and Pateley, and the Eastern parts of Lancashire.
