Dr Wolters (Ἐφ. Ἀρχ. 1892, p. 225) explains the figure of the Earth-Mother as Artemis Λεχώ. I entirely agree with Prof. S. Wide that her pose is not that of ‘eine gebärende Frau’: see S. Wide, ‘Mykenische Götterbilder und Idole,’ A. Mitt. XXVI. 1901, p. 253.
