Ala hele … ala muku, (literally, a short path or road). This ala hele … ala muku was probably the rainbow. It is said in Hawaiian story that when Hiiaka came down from the cave where she found the body of Lohiau she used a rainbow as her way of descent. In an old mele occurs this line: O ke anuenue ke ala o Kaha’i. The rainbow was the path of Kaha’i. ↑
