Conformément à l’orthographe latine, l’Académie écrit bonhomie, prud’homie, homicide, se rapprochant ainsi de notre ancienne orthographe, home, homs, hom, om et enfin on. Le Dictionnaire de l’Académie de 1694, conformément aux instructions des Cahiers, écrit consone.
