Note 76 — TIBERIUS SEMPRONIUS GRACCHUS.

Havilland Le Mesurier Chepmell translation

In Plutarch, Vit. C. Gracch., on the contrary, it is stated, ἐνέστησαν οἱ πολλοὶ καὶ κατέλυσαν τὴν κρίσιν ὑπὲρ τοῦ Γαΐου φοβηθέντες, μὴ περιπετὴς τῇ αἰτίᾳ τοῦ φόνου ζητουμένου γένηται, which, when applying to C. Gracchus, is hardly substantiated.—Germ. Ed.
