Reading edition
Lightfoot (on Ign. ad Eph. v., et alibi) has clearly shewn that Ignatius' use of θυσιαστήριον is altogether mystical. He means not the Holy Table but (among other references) the Church of Christ as the sphere or place of spiritual sacrifice.
