Note 84: (retour) L'empereur, né le 15 août 1769, avait alors trente-huit ans. On oublie volontiers son âge, tant on est ébloui par son éclat. Il y faut cependant penser parfois en lisant son histoire, et se rappeler qu'il était un homme, même un jeune homme. (P. R.)
