Cosimo Rucellai, Bernardo’s son and Lucrezia’s grandson; born 1468, died 1495. The marriage with Madonna Argentina, daughter of Gabriel Malaspina, Marchesa of Fosdinovo, took place only in 1492. (The widow married Piero Soderini, later Gonfaloniere for life.) The expression ‘nuova di zecca,’ or ‘zecca al gitto’ for unexpected news, is still used in Tuscany at the present day.
