This memoir would be incomplete without a respectful mention of the names of Mr. Hodgson, and particularly of Dr. Malan. This latter gentleman, with great generosity, recently presented Csoma’s Tibetan books and MSS., as a spontaneous gift, to the Hungarian Academy of Sciences,3 in whose library at Budapest they will in the future be carefully preserved.
