Reading edition
Khmenu means eight. Thoth, in late times at any rate, combined the powers of the eight gods who accompanied him. He was sometimes called "twice great," sometimes "eight times great" = 23, an arithmetical term especially indicated by the Greek name [Greek: Hermês Trismhegistos].
