Nerthum: nom fém. de la 4e déclinaison; on l’écrit quelquefois Herthum ou Hertham pour le rattacher à l’allemand Erde (anglais Earth). — Tacite identifie Nerthus avec la déesse Cybèle, Terram matrem. Cf. 9, note 1.
