« The affinities of this species, if it be distinct, are rather with those forms found in Nilotic regions than with A. speciosa Phil., from Zanzibar. The four species A. Wernei Ph., A. Kordofana Parr., A. lurida Parr., and A. ovata Ol. are very closely related ; and it is a mather of impossibility to definit the limiting characters of any of them. » Smith, Proceed. zool. society London, 1881, p. 289. En ce qui concerne l’A. ovata, je crois cependant cette espèce suffisamment distincte pour qu’on ne puisse commettre, à son égard, les erreurs de détermination si fréquentes chez les autres coquilles de cette série.
