Reading edition

Mountjoy’s report is in Carew (No. 201). His private secretary, Fynes Moryson, the historian, was present. Carew’s account is in Pacata Hibernia. The Four Masters and O’Sullivan Bere are to be preferred for the movements of the Irish, and the latter may have learned some particulars from his uncle. See also Sir H.
