Non potest Sua Sanctitas sibi persuadere ipsos principes (ut forte aliqui jactant) assumpturos sectam Lutheranam contra ecclesiam. (State Papers, vii. p. 47.) His Holiness is not able to persuade himself that these princes (as some perchance assert) are capable of supporting the Lutheran sect against the church.
