Note 129 — BOOK I. FROM THE END OF THE THIRTEENTH TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE SIXTEENTH CENTURY.

Thomasina Ross translation

The first letter of each of the introductory stanzas, being put together, form the following words:—El bachiler Fernando de Rojas acabò la comedia de Calisto y Melibea, e fue nacido en la puebla de Montalvan.
