Sahagun’s native version of the plaza fight is very confusing, and mixed with that of the struggle against the other divisions, ‘y tomaron los bergantines [two] á los españoles, y lleváronlos á una laguna que llaman Amanalco.’ Hist. Conq. (ed. 1840), 202-3. But this must be a mistake.
