Note XXXVI‑16 — Chapter XXXVI · THE ITZAS AND LACANDONES. 1601-1700.
Reading edition
Infante and Gabaldá had some time previously been submitted to much ill-treatment by the Indians of Nohhaa, who after an idolatrous debauch compelled them to leave the town and betake themselves to the woods, whither the natives presently brought them their robes and the church ornaments. Id. Fancourt, Hist. Yuc., 232, erroneously states that the father was despoiled of his effects.
