He enlarged and beautified the plaza de la Candelaria so extensively that it acquired the name of plaza del Conde. This president was the first to whom was given the title of 'Muy Ilustre Señor' instead of 'Magnífico Señor.' Juarros, Guat., i. 262-3. According to Escamilla, Not. de Guat., 3, he held office till 1627, when he returned to Spain.
