Tradition affirms that the Sixth formerly bore the Motto of "Vi et ARMIS," and on no occasion did the regiment more vigorously support its claim to bear it than at the Heights of Echalar. A pack, bearing that Motto under the Antelope, was preserved by the regiment so late as the year 1825.
