Gough in his “Sepulchral Monuments,” vol. ii. gives a description of the arms contained in these shields, as well as in those which were attached to the figures of the Lord Treasurer and his wife. His description however differs widely from that given by Mr. Holles in his MS. vol. of Lincolnshire Church Notes.
