Note 30b — HORNCASTLE.
Reading edition
In the Harleian collection of manuscripts, in the British Museum, is a volume of Lincolnshire Church Notes, taken about the year 1640, by Mr. Gervase Holles, a native of Great Grimsby, and a representative of that place in several parliaments. Beside noticing the above monument and epitaph, it contains the following account of arms and inscriptions at that time in this church, not a vestige of which is now remaining.
