On y lit ce qui suit sur la situation de St.-Jean alors.--«The garrison was in as good a condition as he desired; the company (80 men besides the officers) was complete; there were near 800 of the inhabitants under the covert of the fort; and all things were in as good posture, etc. Captain Moody and others say that there were 48 pieces of cannon, mortars etc, and a great quantity of ammunition of war».
