The word used for “Eagle” here is sʟg̣ᴀ′m, a story name. It is evidently identical with sʟqᴀ′m, the Masset word for “butterfly.” Among the Masset Haida, Butterfly takes the place of Eagle as Raven’s traveling companion. ↑
